Director

Director

Arun Monga, a Chartered Accountant by profession has more than 35 years of experience in financial management, internal controls audits and compliance.  As the Director, responsible for Operations and overseeing Finance and Administration of the India Office which supports several projects under one roof, he is responsible for guiding staff and planning new initiatives and change management.  Mr Monga works with the F&A team to manage compliance matters relating to local regulations.  Prior to this he was the Director – Finance and Administration at Abt Associates, India and before that as Chief Finance Officer of CARE India he was responsible for the entire financial operation including accounting, budgets, audits, internal controls etc.  His core area of expertise includes strengthening financial systems by introducing effective internal controls, recommending innovative tools to bring in efficient systems and developing reporting systems for decision-making and cost control.

Earlier, he worked as the Deputy Controller with USAID in India and in extremely challenging environments like Afghanistan. Prior to joining CARE India, Mr. Monga also worked with NACO in the capacity of National Programme Adviser, Donor Coordination.  He helped set up and staff the North East Regional Office for NACO which coordinates the programme and financial activities relating to HIV/AIDS in the extremely difficult and complex North-East states of India

Joydeep is CSR Head (New Ventures) at Cairn Oil & Gas; Vice President: Cairn Foundation. He has nearly two decades of experience at national and international level with private sector consulting, MNC and development sector organizations.  Previously he was CSR lead (India Sub-Continent) at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSK-CH); leading projects in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Prior to that he was an Associate Director at PwC and provided Responsible Business Advisory services to private corporations, NGOs and MNCs.

He initiated and successfully stirred the first technical support Hub of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance. He is a specialist in partnership building, government relations, fund management, risk management and project management. Sector-specific expertise includes watershed management, waste management, natural resources management, public health, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, WASH, livelihoods, income generation programmes and micro-finance.

Niraj Agrawal is a development professional with over 29 years of experience in the social sector that spans public health and nutrition, education, livelihood and community development. As Director of program development, he supports the design and execution of the organization’s business development strategy and communication.

Since 2013, he has led several projects funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Global Fund and Nayara Energy (formerly Essar Oil) on TB, Nutrition, RMNCH+A and supply chain management. Prior to joining JSI India, Niraj worked with IPE Global as Director- Nutrition and Community Engagement for the DFID funded sector-wide approach to strengthening health (SWASTH project) in Bihar and as Senior Social Development Expert for Madhya Pradesh Health Sector Reform Project. He has headed Sahay, an Indian NGO working on holistic development of children and their families for 10 years.

He has also worked with DFID for the West Bengal Sexual Health Project and has worked with Child Relief and You (CRY) and Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA). Niraj has strong leadership, project management, communication and team working skills.
