Road To School

The initiative will address the learning gaps of the students across Khurdha District of Odisha through the “Road to School Program”. The program has three main components: Learning Enhancement Programme, Health and Wellbeing and Community Engagement.

Project Approach

JSI R&T India Foundation in partnership with Learning Links Foundation has launched a 2 year initiative titled ‘Road to School Program’ to improve health, nutrition and well-being of school-going children between the ages of 6-14 years. The objectives of the program are-

  • Aid early detection of communicable, non-communicable, disability and deficiency disorders among school children and maintain their health records.
  • To ensure that all children get age appropriate vaccination. 
  • To improve awareness on health, nutrition & hygiene, sanitation and wellbeing among school children, teachers & local communities. The project will also ensure convergence with existing government programs working for children, such as Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram and Mission Indradhanush.

Geographic Area and Reach

10,000 children between the age of 6-14 years studying in 42 schools of Khurda district, Odisha.
